What About Forgiveness?

The Cross of ChristActs 13:38 "Therefore, my brothers, i want you to know that though Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you".

The word "forgive" means to wipe the slate clean.

The Bible tells us that we all are in need of forgiveness from God. We all have committed sin.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 "There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins."

1st John 1:8 "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us."

All sin is an act of rebellion against God. We need God's forgiveness. If our sins are not forgiven, we will spend eternity suffering the consequences of our sin.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that so ever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Forgiveness — how do we get it ?

2nd Peter 3:9 "He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

Ephesians 1:7 "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace."

John 3:17 "For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."

2nd Corinthians 5:21 "For He made him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in him."

1st John 2:2 "He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins for the whole world."
